Our Services

Comprehensive Dental Services

Kary Dental provides a full range of dental care in one location. Routine cleanings, implant surgery, sedation, and sleep medicine all happen here. Most patients never need an outside referral. When a case is better served by a specialist, we refer.

Dr. Andrew L. Kary has worked with digital design, fabrication tools, and precision handwork for close to twenty years. The office is built around that experience: cone-beam CT imaging, intraoral scanning, on-site milling and 3D printing, dental lasers, and multiple sedation options.

What We Do

Preventive and Routine Care

Preventative and Routine Maintenance

Regular exams, cleanings, and early intervention are the foundation of everything else we do. Catching problems early costs less, requires less treatment, and produces better outcomes than waiting.

What this includes:

Same Day Restorations

The office has a Medit i900C intraoral scanner for digital impressions and a Perfit Ovis zirconia milling system. In most cases, a crown, inlay, or onlay can be designed, milled, finished, and delivered in one appointment. No messy impressions, no temporary, no second visit.

Dr. Kary has worked with CAD software and digital fabrication since 2007. Each restoration is designed on computer, milled from solid zirconia, then finished by hand before delivery.

Dental Implants

Dr. Kary places and restores dental implants, from single teeth to full-arch cases. His training includes an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency and an oral surgery internship at Madigan Army Medical Center. Bone grafting, implant placement, and the final restoration are all completed in this office.

Each implant case begins with a cone-beam CT scan for three-dimensional evaluation of bone volume and anatomy. Dr. Kary designs and 3D prints surgical guides in-house.

For complex cosmetic and full-arch prosthetics, we work with specialized CAD design laboratories. Dr. Kary handles all final verification, adjustment, and delivery.

Oral Surgery

Dr. Kary completed an internship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Madigan Army Medical Center and spent six years in the Army Dental Corps. He was the primary wisdom tooth provider at Okubo Dental Clinic and served as surgical extraction and bone grafting preceptor for other Army general dentists.

Sedation Dentistry

We offer sedation at every level, from mild relaxation to complete unconsciousness. The right option depends on the procedure, your medical history, and your preference. We discuss this before scheduling so there are no surprises.

The dental chairs have built-in heat and massage, which helps with comfort during longer appointments even without sedation.

Levels of sedation available:

Root Canal Therapy

Dr. Kary performs root canal treatment on teeth including molars. Most root canals are completed in a single visit.

Every case is evaluated with cone-beam CT imaging for a three-dimensional view of the tooth's root anatomy. This level of detail is not available from a standard X-ray and helps identify problems that would otherwise be missed.

Modern endodontic techniques, magnification, ultrasonic instruments, and bioceramic materials make the procedure more precise, more comfortable, and more successful than in years past.

If a tooth can be saved, a root canal is usually preferable to extraction. We will tell you whether it can or can't be saved.

Dental Sleep Medicine

Dr. Kary is a Qualified Dentist of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Oral appliance therapy is a clinically validated treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). A custom appliance worn at night repositions the lower jaw to keep the airway open during sleep. For patients who qualify, this means sleeping without a machine, hose, or mask. For some patients, oral appliance therapy works alongside CPAP (combination therapy) to improve results beyond what either approach achieves alone.

Obstructive sleep apnea is a medical condition. Treatment begins with a confirmed diagnosis, and polysomnography (PSG) remains the gold standard for that diagnosis. If you already have a sleep study on file, bring it. If you have not been tested, we will coordinate with a sleep physician to get the appropriate diagnostic workup completed before starting any treatment. Your physician stays involved throughout, and we send treatment summaries and follow-up results back to them.

We handle medical insurance billing and prior authorizations for oral appliance therapy.

Clear Aligner Orthodontics

We offer clear aligner orthodontics for adults and teens. Clear aligners use a series of custom-made, removable trays to gradually straighten teeth. No metal brackets, no wires, no monthly tightening appointments.

Treatment begins with a digital scan (no messy impressions) and a treatment plan you can review before committing.

What this includes:

Do you offer Invisalign?

We offer clear aligner therapy but are not contracted with Align Corporation (the company behind Invisalign). Invisalign is a brand name, like Kleenex. Every major dental lab offers clear aligners. We select our aligner systems for clinical performance, not brand deals. Without a corporate contract dictating case selection, pricing, and workflow, we have more options to treat your case the way we believe it should be treated.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Dr. Kary has both a mechanical engineering degree and a background in drawing, painting, ceramics, and photography. Cosmetic dentistry is where those skills are most visible: designing restorations that look natural, match surrounding teeth in color and translucency, and hold up under daily function.

What this includes:

TMJ Treatment and Neuromodulators

Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders can cause jaw pain, headaches, difficulty chewing, and clicking or locking of the jaw. We take a conservative approach: diagnosis, then least invasive treatment first. Neuromodulator injections (often known by the brand name Botox) are commonly used off-label for TMJ-related muscle pain and clenching. When jaw muscle overactivity is a contributing factor, neuromodulator therapy can reduce the intensity and frequency of symptoms. Results typically last three to four months.

Periodontal Therapy

Gum disease is the leading cause of tooth loss in adults. We screen for it at every exam and treat it in-house when found.

What this includes:

Full-Mouth Rehabilitation

For patients who need treatment across most or all of their teeth, we develop a phased treatment plan that addresses everything: structural damage, worn teeth, missing teeth, bite alignment, gum health, and aesthetics. This may involve a combination of implants, crowns, bone grafting, extractions, and prosthetics.

Full-mouth cases are planned using cone-beam CT imaging, digital scans, and 3D models. Sedation is available.

Emergency Dentistry

We reserve time in the schedule for urgent and emergency visits. If you have a broken tooth, pain, swelling, infection, or dental trauma, call the office at (301) 301-3148. We will see you as quickly as possible.

Dentures and REmovable Prosthetics

Losing teeth does not have to mean losing function or confidence. We offer complete and partial dentures, removable implant overdentures, and implant-supported fixed prostheses (All-on-X). All our dental prosthetics are made digitally using intraoral scanning and computer-aided design for both better precision and to avoid lab turnaround times.

If you need extractions, immediate dentures mean you leave the office with teeth the same day. During multi-stage treatment plans, we will make a temporary prosthesis until you are healed and ready for a definitive one. This means you never have to leave the office without a full set of teeth to smile with.
