What technology do you have in the office?

Everything needed to plan, design, and fabricate most treatment without leaving the building:

Dr. Kary has worked with CAD software and digital fabrication since 2007, so this equipment is used daily rather than kept for special cases.

A CBCT scan produces a three-dimensional image of your teeth, jaws, sinuses, and airway, showing bone volume and anatomy that a flat X-ray cannot. We use it for implant planning, surgical evaluation, root canal diagnosis, airway analysis, and TMJ assessment. It is taken when the information will change the treatment decision, not routinely.

Yes. Crowns, inlays, and onlays are designed in software and milled from fully sintered zirconia on-site, then color-matched and finished by hand. Surgical guides, models, provisional restorations, and night guards are 3D printed here as well. Having the lab in the building is what makes single-visit restorations possible and lets adjustments happen while you are still in the chair.

A way of removing early decay using a fine stream of particles instead of a bur. There is no drill and no vibration, and it removes less healthy tooth structure than a conventional preparation. It suits small, early lesions rather than large or deep decay.

Surgical guides for implant placement, diagnostic models, provisional restorations, orthotics, and night guards. Printing in-house removes lab shipping time from the schedule, which is why provisionals can be ready before you sit down. It also means a guide can be reprinted the same day if a plan changes.

The case is planned in software from your CBCT scan, and a surgical guide is then 3D printed to match that plan. The guide directs the position, angle, and depth of the implant during surgery rather than relying on judgment alone. Planning is done in DTX Studio and the guides are printed here.

So you can see what we see. High-resolution images of a cracked filling or an area of decay make it possible to explain a recommendation rather than just state it, and to compare the same tooth over time. If a procedure is not necessary, the photo usually shows that too.

Digital sensors need roughly 90% less radiation than traditional film. A CBCT scan uses more than a single digital X-ray but far less than a medical CT, and it is only taken when the three-dimensional information is needed. We use protective shielding and take images based on what your exam actually calls for.

Treatment is billed by procedure code, not by the instrument used, so a crown is billed as a crown whether it is milled here or sent to a lab. Doing the work in-house tends to reduce visits rather than add cost. The practice is independently owned with no outside investors and no production quotas, so equipment is not something you are steered toward paying for.
